Production Manager, Spring 2026

We are seeking a Production Manager for our Spring 2026 Series working as an independent contractor in paid position. Part-time hours with contract beginning January 2026 through our May staged reading. UR HERE Production Manager, Spring 2026

 

Classification: Independent Contractor

Stipend: Based By Series Flat Rate range of $750-$1000 for Series 

Timeframe: January - May 2026 for Spring Series which includes a Rogue Festival production and two Staged Readings. 


Series Key Dates: 

  • Auditions are set for Saturday, January 10, 2:00 pm-5:00 pm

  • For Rogue we will have a fully realized production and will have four performances at an “Off-Rogue” venue, The Grove at Veni’s 

    • Rehearsals will be middle of January to opening, based on artists’ availability. (10-15 total) Production Manager expected to be at first and last rehearsal and as needed to check in the middle as needed.

    • One tech rehearsal at the venue (date TBD)

    • Performance dates & times:

      • Friday, 2/27 @ 8:30 pm

      • Saturday, 2/28 @ 1:00 pm

      • Fri., 3/6 @ 5:30 pm

      • Sat., 3/7 @ 2:30 pm

  • 222 Staged Readings will be at 2nd Space, 4/11 and 5/9 at 2:00 pm, with two additional performances (dates TBD)

    • Rehearsals are generally 2-3 weeks before based on artists availability. (4-5 total) Production Manager expected to be at the first and last rehearsal.

    • Cue to cue final tech is a noon call, day of performance


 

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the guidance of the UR HERE Board of Directors, with the direction of the Board Producer, plan and oversee all shows in designated series; determine technical needs for productions, works within approved budgets, coordinate all rentals from rehearsal spaces to show needs; supervise and step in as technical support during tech and show nights as needed.

 

Reports to: UR HERE Board Producer, as appointed by the Board of Directors.

  • Primary point of contact for guest artists.

  • Oversees shows within the producing series.

  • Determines needs for a complete and successful rehearsal process through production.

  • Oversees technical needs and coordinates directly with the venue. May act as technical director on a case by case basis.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

  • Direct communication with the Board Producer to provide updates on all items related to production.

  • Meet with the director to review the “Best Practices of Staged Readings” document as defined by UR HERE.

  • Plan, oversee and manage shows from pre-production, auditions, through opening and closing of the performance; conduct company and production meetings, distribute scripts, and coordinate marketing needs.

  • Work directly with the director to analyze and determine technical labor and needs working within a set budget. Confirm budget with Board Producer prior to purchase of any materials (i.e. costumes, props, furniture, electronics). 

  • Oversee the scheduling of rehearsals. Maintain series master schedules, reserve spaces as necessary. Acts as rehearsal spaces keyholder and as liaison between artistic team members.

  • Schedule production staff for rehearsals and work calls.

  • Crew productions when needed; this ranges from a full production for Rogue to staged readings with minimal tech needs, confirming and securing other crew as the play requires. 

  • Communicate with UR Here Board, artists, and contractors to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and exchange information; communicate with and advise artists, crew or directors to assure the smooth running of performances and talkbacks.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education and Experience:

  • Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's degree in theatre arts (or pursuing), theatre production or related field, or at least three years of theatre production experience.

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge/Areas of Expertise:

  • Technical theatre production and knowledge of various aspects of producing an event or

  • production in both the educational and community arenas.

  • Budget reporting and management.

  • Stage management procedures and production crew operations.

  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exemplary communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Experience leading and managing groups of artistic and production collaborators.

  • Experience in common office software, especially Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Calendar, and Zoom.

  • Possesses valid driver’s license and has reliable transportation.

  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines, plan and organize work; can work independently with little direction.
